We’ll examine the tug of war that so easily emerges in many Clinical and mental health-based settings.
We’ll examine the tug of war that so easily emerges in many Clinical and mental health-based settings. Participants will explore insights surrounding clinical management of the client-therapist relationship definitions and the differences that may be present among clients and practitioners’ expectations, the role of self-disclosure and counter transference in treatment, identifying and implementing effective boundaries in practice, as well as addressing challenges and conflicts of institutional vs practitioner vs client value systems within multiple settings while upholding a person-centered therapeutic alliance.
Gain insight surrounding clinical management of client-therapist relationship definitions and the differences that may be present among clients and practitioners’ expectations
Define and understand the role of self-disclosure and counter transference in treatment and identifying and implementing effective and appropriate boundaries in practice
Address challenges and conflicts of institutional vs practitioner vs client value systems within multiple settings
Understand the role of burnout in clinical treatment
Developing strategies to improve clinician wellbeing and improve overall treatment for clients
Rebecca Marcus, LCSW
Rebecca Marcus, LCSW is a psychotherapist and speaker who helps anxious women navigate dating and relationships with intention through a holistic and trauma-informed approach. She helps her clients develop self-awareness and build effective coping skills to allow them to break free from anxiety and stress. Rebecca received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with minors in Fine Arts and Disaster Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz and later went on to receive her Master's in Social Work from New York University, with a focus on clinical practice and trauma. She currently has a private practice in New York City.
