Eating disorders and the variety in which they manifest have been steadily growing across all segments of the population. It is essential that mental health practitioners stay up to date on the most recent research in the diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders. This class, designed for all levels of mental health practitioners, will enhance their knowledge-base and sense of competence in recognizing, diagnosing and prescribing a course of treatment for eating disorders.
Class Objectives Include: Identify and contrast eating disorder clinical classifications, criteria and subsets. Identify groups that are at high risk for developing disordered eating based on gender, age, comorbidities, family history, socioeconomic status, et. al. Summarize best practices for clinical intervention at various levels of care. Describe and apply classifications and best practices to case studies presented as well as cases raised by participants

About the Instructor: JENNIE KRAMER, MSW, LCSW-R, CEDS
Jennie Kramer is the Founder and Executive Director of Metro Behavioral Health Associates which offers comprehensive outpatient treatment for all forms of eating disorders, addictions and mood disorders. She is a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist as designated by the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP).
Jennie also serves as a Senior Clinical Advisor for The O’Connor Professional Group which specializes in identifying suitable treatment and aftercare options and creating and implementing sustainable recovery plans. Jennie was the Chair for the Board of Directors of the Binge Eating Disorders Association and now serves as Vice President of The Scarsdale Business Alliance while enjoying active participation in numerous professional organizations.
Jennie served as Director of the Renfrew Centers for Eating Disorders for 5 years and has been treating all forms of disordered eating and mood disorders for more than 20 years. Prior to entering this field, she also served as Chief Operating Officer for Dr. Robert Atkins and was a management consultant to the integrative healthcare industry. Jennie frequently lectures and has been interviewed in the media extensively and has co-authored "Overcoming Binge Eating for DUMMIES™" for the popular series.
