Course Description

  • As therapists and counselors, talking through matters with our clients is our most relied upon method for trying to help them. Yet, talking alone can sometimes only get us so far. This workshop will provide space for participants to explore different ways for using creative and expressive arts techniques and experiential methods for getting to the deeper layers and clarification of issues. Learn techniques that can be used in both the teletherapy space and in-person treatment settings.

Learning Objectives

  • Define expressive arts and experiential practices for psychotherapy

  • Describe the difference between right and left brain processing

  • Demonstrate 8 different avenues for using expressive and experiential practices in mental health treatment

  • Case discussion, experiential practices and workshop different client scenarios

Instructor

Veronica Vaiti, LCSW-R, CCATP

Veronica is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Bhava Therapy Group and the Social Work Consultant for the Bhava Therapy Group Continuing Education Program. Veronica received her Masters of Social Work degree and postmasters Advanced Clinical Training from New York University. She studied at the Gestalt Associates for Psychotherapy in their Clinical Fellowship Program as well as Sensory-Motor Psychotherapy for Trauma, Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy, Yoga Therapy and numerous other trainings. Veronica has over 20 years experience as a psychodynamic, somatic and experientially oriented psychotherapist, supervisor, teacher, author, administrator and consultant.
